Recipe(s) of the Week: Homemade Pear Honey



Try this recipe that has been passed through many generations.  Due to the silky-smooth texture and nectar-like taste people think there is honey in the preserves. Spread it on your buttered toast or biscuits. Pears as one of the ingredients were distributed at all three Farms2Table Farmers Markets in Apache Junction and El Mirage this past weekend.


Pears are nutrient-dense offering more nutrients for fewer calories, plus no sodium, fat or cholesterol. Only 100 calories in a medium sized pear, each pear packs 21% of daily value for fiber, 8% vitamin C, 4% potassium, and a whole host of health benefits.
