Recipe of the Week: Strawberry and Goat Cheese Crostini

Looking for a great appetizer using delicious and nutritious strawberries you shopped and received at either Apache Junction farmers market locations? This Strawberry and Goat Cheese recipe is an excellent side dish for parties and get togethers. Goat cheese can be substituted for cream cheese, feta cheese, labneh or ricotta cheese and Crostini bread for Bruschetta.

Strawberries are bright, red, juicy and sweet and are an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese including decent amounts of vitamin B9 and potassium. It is also very rich in antioxidants and plant compounds, which may have benefits for heart health and blood sugar control. Usually consumed raw and fresh, these berries can also be used in a variety of jams, jellies and desserts.
