Recipe of the Week: Blueberry Compote


Use the blueberries you received from a Farms2Table farmers market and make this delicious sauce for any dessert or even a nutritious breakfast with yogurt and granola. With a hint of lemon and about 15 minutes to prepare anyone can make this recipe. Just a note, blueberries can be frozen to use at a later time.


Blueberries contain a plant compound called anthocyanin. This gives blueberries both their blue color and many of their health benefits. One cup of the fruit provides 24 percent of a person recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. Blueberries can help heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressures and amongst other benefits.
